Science House resource

In order to use this resource, you need to attend a training down at the Science Museum of Minnesota. The Science House is open daily from 3:30-6:30.

PSI has trainings set up next week that you are welcome to attend with their teachers. On Tuesday, February 17, the PSI K and 1st grade teachers will be going. On Wednesday, February 18, the 4-6th grade teachers will be going. All you need to do is contact one of those teachers and let them know you are going to be part of their group.

You also can get a group of SLP Pre-K teachers together and I can help you set up your own training time.

Let me know what you plan to do.

The resource is made available to the entire school district through support provided by the PSI PTO, so it would be good to thank them for this opportunity!

Family Serving Colleagues,

A new website from the Extension Center for Family Development has been created, Families in Tough Times. There are resources for families who
- may be experiencing tough economic times right now,
- or are attemtping to avoid tough times,
- or are recovering from tough times.

Please feel free to send this website out to others who work with families.

Borrowed from another blog...

"Anyway, there I am on page 69 under the header 'Sense of Identity'. Lisa writes:
The first thing I see when I enter Lauren and Gary's first-grade classroom is a small bookcase facing the doorway. Plants on the top shelf bring softness and life into the old school building. On the shelves are simple wooden picture frames, bought at the dollar store across the street, containing delightful photographs of each child. There is no doubt what - or who - is important in this room."
