A couple interesting websites

You might be familiar with the work of glass sculpture artist Dale Chihuly. This group seems to have used his work as a provocation and there are some other interesting documentations on this site.

To see some Chihuly, go to http://www.dbg.org/index.php/chihuly.

This website documents learning stories, a concept which I'm finding interesting and exciting.

Another interesting concept...

I LOVE the learning stories! At first I didn't get it...why was the writer explaining what he/she "thought" the child was doing? What happened to just stating the facts and not our feelings/ideas about what the kids are doing? Then I read more about it and it's a story written by the teacher TO the child! How cool is that! Then the parents add their thoughts on the process. It's not really a representation of the child's learning because we do not know what he/she is thinking when doing these activities (for example, when the girl is painting and she is watching the paint drip down..she might just like the look or the puddle at the end-not the dripping process.
